The Xbox Series X is an enticing prospect, especially for those who are already invested in the Xbox ecosystem. Its graphical grunt combined with the excellent Xbox Game Pass subscription service means Xbox fans should seriously consider the latest and greatest console, with its impressive technical specs and plenty of hope for the future.

The answer to this is surprisingly complex, and I go into more detail in my Xbox One X vs. Xbox Series S article over here, but that is ultimately the reason you shouldn't buy an Xbox One X in 2022: The Xbox Series S is better overall, for a lower price.

Presumably, you'd be looking to buy an Xbox One X second-hand, since Microsoft itself is no longer manufacturing them. The current-gen Xbox Series XS consoles are the entry point to the Xbox console ecosystem as of 2022, and ultimately, you should be looking to grab one of those if you can.

Ultimately, the choice boils down to whether or not you have a 4K TV, but even then, you should still probably opt for an Xbox Series S, given that it can often output games at 1440p as well. The speed improvements for frame rates and SSD loading times on the Xbox Series XS consoles are too good to ignore, coupled with the fact the Xbox One X is no longer \"current,\" meaning that it won't get as many optimized games.

I would say that maybe once the Series X/S consoles aren't impossible to find, then you're better off getting those. For now, I would just say to get an XBox One. You can find them for pretty cheap, and it has a great library while you wait for the scalpers to calm down and stop ruining everything.

If your receiver or soundbar uses HDMI for audio, you should be fine with the Xbox Series X or Series S. Ok so if you have a basic problem the xbox troubleshooter will help but the other 80% of the time the system will need more help. Power issues that are not solved by the xbox troubleshooter have a few points of failure. First we will start with the least technical. Original fat model xbox one try the power supply on a friends system or bring your system to a gamestore and tell them you want to trade it in but leave your powerbrick at home and they will test it with a store powerbrick. Then just dont sell it. For all other xbox one models the power supply is internal so if you are willing to open the system y_ will need to test for shorts on the motherboard side of the power connector. If more than 2 of the connectors show continuity to the copper ground on the edge of board. The power supply is more than likely fine but in some cases w- still be bad but the extra grounds need to be fixed first and that is on the power rail- sorry ifixit will not support my 2734 character answer and the guid is horible on here

Continued from my othe answer that ifixit made me cut to 1024 cheracters --that is under the heatsink/fan. If the xbox original power supply also tests good and the system still does not power on it is also the power rail most of the time. To get to the power rail you must remove every screw and pull the motherboard when the motherboard is out you have to remove the screws in the x clamp and the presurized x clamp. The heatsink will now come off and you can see the power rail. The power rail is along the right side of the cpu right next to the edge of the motherboard. You will need to find the component that is about the size of 1/4 of a grain of rice. Most of the time the damaged one will look burnt and replace it with a known good one by desoldering it from another parts xbox one and soldering it into yours. If you do not have solder experience I would not recommend starting with micro components. Ok and to the people smacking the xbox. Please stop you are causing damage that may no - had to still cut this

Note Because the console has a built-in surge protector, you should not connect it to an external surge protector. If you connect the console to another surge protector, the console cannot reach the full power that is needed for optimal performance.

Note: you shouldn't hit it to the point it's gonna break (that is unless it's being picky then u can hit it a bit harder but only a bit harder from the Goldilock zone of soft and hard) but don't hit it soft your trying to kick it into gear and just tapping it won't do you any good.

I have the original xbox one as well but about 2 days ago i was playing rdr2 when the consle just shut off and it wouldnt turn on. so i unplugged it for about 10 seconds and it turned back on. but about 15-20 minutes later it shut off again and is still doing that now what do i do I tried resetting the power supply and nothing has changed
